Cannery Cuisine!

Finally! A place for those who find pioneer food a little hard to swallow! Recipes so good your family won't know you've fed them whatever is in the cans under the basement stairs! Cracked wheat crackers need not apply...

Chocolate No-Bake Cookies!
OK- so everyone has probably had these before- but it is a great way to rotate some food storage items and even picky husbands devour them!
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup butter or margarine
5 cups quick oats
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup peanut butter
In saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, milk and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils; remove from heat. Add peanut butter, stir until blended. Add oats and vanilla. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper, forming slightly with fingers if needed. Cool completely.

Mine too! I can never keep enough of these around, and the plus is that you don't have to turn on the oven in the dead of summer to make them!
